Back to Wilcannia!
A recent visit to Wilcannia by Andrew gave us all a great insight to Wilcannia and what it offers travellers through the area today.
The only part Andrew missed due to time restrictions was a visit to the Warrawong Caravan Park, a mere few kilometres out of town. Well, only a matter of weeks later Chris just happened to be driving through town, and with a spare day up his sleeve, he dropped in and met some fellow travellers – with a difference.
Fran and Allen Gray are the quintessential grey nomads, and have been travelling around this grand country in their personally built up Bedford bus. However whilst roaming around northern Queensland tropical regions they got a call to ‘pop in’ to Wilcannia to manage the Warrawong Caravan Park for six months, and before you could say “Whaddaya think Darling?” they’d set south for the small Outback NSW town on the banks of the Darling River.
Their story is unique, as most are, but this one may also interest anyone else thinking of taking up a management position in a caravan park, be it for temporary relief work or a semi-permanent style.
Have a listen and see what they have to say about Warrawong, Wilcannia, and how they’re combining travelling and working around Australia.
